What is the best tool for a shedding Boxer? |
|
I have seen shedding blades, rubber "brushes" etc. I am trying get all the loose hair out, especially now that the weather is warm.
Any advice or experiences?

1. I used to use my horse's shedding blade on my Boxers |
|
And I've had luck with those round rubber brushes. I always loved it when people told me, "Oh, you're so lucky to have a short-haired dog that doesn't shed."
Also, you need to post a photo. x(

this guy was a rescue - seized by police from an auto body shop atfer some customers turned them in. Just breaks my heart to think about it but he is a beautiful and very sweet dog now.

2. we just got one called the "furminator" |
|
seriously. about $40 at petco. It looks like a large razor.
One of our dogs is part husky, and has tons of loose hair. This thing gets out so much we could stuff a pillow. But after brushing him every day for a week, it really seems to have cut down on the loose hair.

8. A hound glove also works well |
|
on any short haired breed.
But...if the shedding looks excessive, hair around the spot the dog was laying, etc, have his thyroid checked. Hypothyroid can cause brittle coat that is dull, full of dandruff and more shedding than you expect. It's easy to check and cheap to treat.
