We bought the bucket truck today! |
|
A few months ago, I posted here (in humor) explaining why I felt I needed a bucket truck. I said a bunch of silly stuff about great views in the campground, and how we could rescue kittens, etc.
Well, today we actually bought one. Not for the reasons I joked about, but the joke got me to thinking about all the stuff I could do with a tall lift. I own a tall old house, and a two-storey garage apartment (think tax deduction). If I'd bought a lift instead of hiring a painter several years ago, it would have paid for itself the first year.
It's actually not a "truck" but a trailer-mounted boom lift. Got it second hand for a decent price. It'll be delivered today if this weather clears up.
Funny how a joke ended up with me buying a piece of heavy equipemt :)

4. That's the kind of thing we were thinking of. |
|
Actually, we don't have golf balls in our gutters, but we don't have gutters either. With a boom lift, we can now install gutters, and keep them clean!
With gutters, I can have a cistern, to collect rainwater for the garden.
Now if I can figure out a way to till a garden with a bucket truck!
