What the hell...I'll start a thread too. I kinda thought there might be more already, but what the hey....
Um...awesome. Paul and Ringo especially. I can't be the only one who was transported back to the heady days of Beatlemania, watching those two guys riff off each other?! Was it not like the airport terminal lounge press conference at JFK in February 1964 all over again? The only thing that was missing was George's comment that "I had one yesterday", when the dumb ass reporter asked him when was the last time any of them had had a hair cut.
Paul and Ringo made the interview work, with a tip of the hat to Yoko and Olivia as well. The Cirque du Soleil founder, Guy, also did a fine job.
Larry....is on crack. Seriously, what is he smoking? I mean, if the old folks home candy striper isn't ringing the 4:30 dinner bell just yet, she's reaching for it. Holy shit, talk about some awkward moments.
I can sum it up with a paraphrasing of this exchange:
Larry: Hey Paul and Ringo, you guys made great music together and it touched the whole world. By the way Paul, where were you when John died?
Paul: (icy stare straight ahead, hairs bristling at back of neck) In Sussex. (dead silence...crickets chirping)
Ya...GREAT segue there Larry. You truly are the King of Talk. :sarcasm:
Long live John, Paul, George and Ringo.:headbang:

2. Do you know how many Beatles songs were inspired by Ringo? |
|
Just the way he'd shoot off his mouth at times.
Like the time they had a long recording session into the night, and Ringo said "Been a hard day's night."
Or he made a crack about 8 days a week.

4. Ringo is the king of malapropisms... |

...and John and Paul exploited his awkward gift for many song titles, you're right.;)

5. I saw a glimpse of it...had it been anyone other than LK, I would have watched |
|
I don't know whether he doesn't listen to his guests or if he has some sort of dementia, but he doesn't comprehend what his guests say. It detracts from the interview.
I hate to say it as I don't want to be ugly about it, but Larry King's day is long past. I am not a young person myself, so that is not an issue.

9. I knew I'd be in for a series of cringe-inducing questions from Larry... |
|
...but Paul and Ringo? Being interviewed together in that kind of setting for the first time in 40 years? I wasn't going to miss it. And they didn't disappoint. For the duration of the interview, they were 24 years old again...cheekily amusing themselves back and forth while enduring a battery of lame brain questions from a tired old hack.
Dementia seems like an appropriate explanation. Good one!:P

12. I liked the way Paul squelched Larry's attempt at bringing up the Heather Mills divorce thing. |

Larry, as usual looking for controversy to boost his ratings, was stopped in his tracks by Paul....I loved it! From the show: KING: And Paul, how are you adjusting to what was tumultuous times? MCCARTNEY: I'm OK. Thank you, Larry. Thank you for asking. I'm doing surprisingly well. KING: I mean, that had to be rough. MCCARTNEY: It is currently rough. KING: Still rough. MCCARTNEY: It is very rough, yes. But I don't talk about it, and that helps. (My italics.) It was great to see Paul put him in his place. I would be surprised if they had not agreed ahead of time not to talk about the divorce, but Larry tried to sneak it in. Larry is a shadow of his former self, as an interviewer. He just barks questions at people, never responds to their answers and seems to me to be often confused or befuddled.
