So this idiot mortgage saleswoman calls me...

with a proposal. It didn't sound exemplary, but it was an option, so I asked her for a good faith estimate so I could show my husband this evening.

She then ASKS ME FOR $500 for the good faith estimate!

Unbelievable. "I have never had to pay for a good faith estimate," I tell her. "Why are you asking for this money?"

Her answer: "So you won't take our information and shop it around."

I answer: "But that's my job - to SHOP IT AROUND."

"Oh - let me go ask my director if that's okay," she says.

She puts me on hold. I hang up when she's on hold. She called again - I didn't answer.

They called me yesterday with some ridiculous, fancy 30-year fixed loan where the first 10 years is INTEREST ONLY. Then, at year 11, I would then owe principle and interest - so the amount due monthly would increase to... what now? Unbelievable.

So I tell them that I'm just looking for a straight-forward 30 year mortgage. That's all. No frills. This same woman calls back and says, "Well maybe that other loan WAS TOO COMPLICATED FOR YOU." :mad:
