Just saw 'Transformers', uh, ask me anything?
I had a chance to attend an advanced screening of the movie tonight. I don't know if anyone else owned the actions figures, or watched the cartoon, but if you have been looking forward to the movie, or even if you're just casually interested in a quick summer flick, and would like to ask me about the film, I'd be happy to answer your questions.

1. How horribly did Bay butcher it?

4. Not as much as I thought he might
He certainly didn't ruin it. He did well, there were only a few scenes that felt out of place or diversionary, but generally it was very cohesive. Definitely a highly stylized movie, with short-quick pacing, but it worked. I enjoyed it.

2. Was it worth nine bucks?
Or should I wait until it's on basic cable at 2:00 am?

5. Worth the price of admission
Even though I got in for free. ;) If you're a Transformers fan, or remember the action figures/cartoon series from your childhood (like me), you should be satisfied with how it turned out.

6. Seeing the trailers, I thought the CGI might make it one that I'd want to see on the big screen.
Some movies are like that- like Ang Lee's "Hulk".
Even though it SUKKD badly, I was glad I saw the
Hulk-versus-Tank scene in a theater with Dolby Sound.
Just not the same at home on a TV, y'know?

7. I know what you mean
"pretty films", even if otherwise kinda crappy, can still be fun to watch, especially in the theater. ILM did their thing well here.

3. Did it follow the novel closely?
How close to the script did Alan Dead Foster get?

8. I don't know about that
I'm not familiar with the novel.
