What's with all those free olives at the grocery store?
Yesterday morning on my usual stop off on the way to work for the free olive layout at the Kroger ( I bring my own spork ever since that Mexican lady gave me those weird looks for asking if she had a fork that one day) I noticed that they had free cookies too but I digress

They have this giant like salad bar thing of nothing but olives-black ones green ones spiced ones stuffed ones- man is it great. Of course stopping as early as I do I have stick my head under the butcher paper they have laid over top of it (why do they do THAT?!?) so I can get to them and not drip any olive juice on the floor. An inconvenience yes but hey it's free olives!!

Anyway I think it is nice that they do that.

1. The Kroger in my neighborhood has that, but they are not free.
You pay $5.99 a pound.

4. My local grocery has shelves of food, all arranged by type and just sitting there on shelves.
And if you want meat, there's a guy in the back who will cut it up and give it to you!

They're really nice.

Most times, they'll even load the food into my car, except sometimes they ask for something called a "reseat", which I don't have. Those times they get really angry at me and tell me I can't have any of the food in my cart and that I should just leave. It's confusing, but it's their place, I can guess they make whatever rules they want.

Someday I'd like to find a "reseat".

13. One hardly ever sees Foons, anymore.
I bet a Foon in it's original packaging would bring a tidy profit at auction...

Un-restored and never painted.

17. Actually, Kroger has everything free at about 3 am
It's a special perk. Go in from 3:00 to 3:15, and you can pick up whatever you need and walk out with it. The cashier has it worked out where they are pretending to be asleep.

18. I'll try to remember that
we don't have any 24 hour Krogers around here so I might need a crowbar...pretty much everthing is free when you have one of those.
