Q-tipaholics check-in

I can't go a day without cleaning out my ears with a Q-tip - it feels so darn good!

I tell him that he sounds like it might be better than sex, and all he does is smile!

2. All I can say is Aural Gratification
Which also means if you want to get your husband in the mood you know exactly where one of his E-zones is located

5. Well, if he would stop working 36 hours straight I would definitely do that!
And the worst part is he's not a doctor, so no doctor pay. At least the overtime pay is good.

Let's hope he comes home early today! :D

9. My otolaryngologist calls me a Q-tip abuser
I clean my ears with them every day and he's often had to remove cotton..... According to him, you're not supposed to clean your ears with Q-tips but I do anyway.

10. Ear cleaning with Q-tips is like smoking
You know it can do major damage to your body but you're gonna do it anyways

At least dirty Q-tips don't stink

15. I use to do it
Went to the doc for pressure in my ears without having any kind of sinus congestion or allergies. There was a lot of wax in one and I got it irrigated- flushed out with syringes full of water and peroxide. I was amazed how much crap came out of there. She told me not to do that anymore, it pushes the wax in further. :( I guess that pediatrician who told me never to stick anything in my ear smaller than my elbow was right.

12. If I clean my ears with q-tips to often, I get BPV.
Benign Positional Vertigo Overview

Benign positional vertigo (BPV)—or simply vertigo—is a disorder of the inner ear. You feel a sudden sensation of movement or spinning when you move your head or hold it in a certain position.

The inner ear is located within your skull and consists of the cochlea, a chamber shaped like a snail shell, where sound is transformed to nerve signals for the brain, and 3 semi-circular canals that function like a gyroscope, relaying information about head position and movement to the brain.

The semicircular canals contain fluid and special sensors that, when disturbed, inform the brain of a change in head position. It is thought that when you have BPV small particles become dislodged within the inner ear and then bounce around when your head moves, triggering faulty signals that your head is still moving even after it stops. This sensation of movement or imbalance when you are not moving is called vertigo, the primary symptom of benign positional vertigo.

18. Seriously - I ran out at home and actually grabbed a used Q-tip
:scared:

I have a mini-trashcan on my computer desk which usually has paper scraps and old Q-tips in it. Yes, I'm so pathetically addicted that I used a used Q-tip

22. The guy on Oprah said you should use mineral water
it will solidify whatever is in there and it will fall out.

Q-tips are apparently a bad idea.

23. Do you use peroxide?
I started putting peroxide in my ears (drop a few drops in with a q-tip) and let it bubble around and then swipe it with the q-tip tilting your head the other way so it comes back out. I saw something on the internet about it and gave it a try -- now I ***have*** to do it once every morning and once every evening.

I heard germs come in through your ear canal, and also now have excema off and on which goes in the ears and I think the q-tip ritual helps keep it from getting out of control.
