1. We had a kid in our class named Chunky
He was and everyone called him that, including teachers. It was not a mean nickname - his family had given it to him and everyone liked him. He was a popular kid.

There were also Punkin and Peanut (not related). Oh, and Egg.

7. There was one guy called Rhino.
I don't believe it was because of his awesome intellect. In fact he still is called Rhino, my brother's contacts back home inform me.

There was also a guy called Bear, for arcane reasons.

Oh, and a girl in my class with the name Shelley Higgs was sometimes called Smelly Pigs.

8. Tippy Sillyballs
His name was really Tim, but in 1987 he developed a heavy metal personna and asked that we address him as "Blade". I'm not sure how Tippy Sillyballs came about, but it sure stuck to him like glue. He ended up moving to another state.

13. skidder
so named for the skid marks on his jockey shorts. He left them layout out one day while at camp, and everybody saw the marks, hence the name "skidder". He got the nickname in 6th grade and it followed him through high school.
