1. Yeah it looks like it'll probably be a piece of mindless fun
I like a piece of mindless fun once in a while. My bro and I saw the trailer and decided we'd give it a go. We'll wait until it's been out a couple of weeks probably.

2. No thanks
Toys should be made about movies, not the other way around.

33. My six year old grandson saw the trailer and wants to go!
But Grandma is bowing out of this one. Grandpa can take him on a rainy day in Portland. (Of which we have almost NONE in July, August, September, and sometimes October, too.)

4. Yeah, I've got the feeling they made the movie to sell the toys.
Spielberg is involved after all. Selling products is his schtick.

Product placement's gotten so bad they're even showcasing the product placement in the movie in the commercials for the movies. Satire's dead.

Not that any of this will influence my decision to see this movie.

Like in the eighties sometime? No I'll snatch a copy for my nephews and let them bug their parents for the toys.

30. Completely.
That kid left a box of them up in the attic. I guess the wonks at Hasbro had all that mood ring technology left over from the seventies and decided to use it in their robot toys.

32. did she have the toys?
Their little guns kept getting lost and then I would end up finding them with my bare feet in the middle of the night when I went to the bathroom.

Guns hurt!

43. By their logos.
:)

Autobots (the good guys)

Decepticons (the bad guys)

Back in the old days, though, Autobots were mostly cars and trucks, while Decepticons were other transportation types. I thought the Decepticons were cooler.

14. For some reason, I never was into Transformers as a kid
when I probably should have been - at least when they originally came out.

and, I never got into the comic book, either, when I was really into comic books for a good 20 years of my life.

So, while I like just about any big budget sci-fi movie, I'm not waiting with bated breath, either.

15. I wasn't a fan either. BUT!
The trailer looks pretty kickass, so I'll likely wait for the DVD and rent it. I have no problem watching a shitty movie, as long as the special effects are good. I'm easily amused I suppose.

I don't go to theaters (or anyplace crowded) alone. A DUer (Infomaniac) is my movie buddy, and she doesn't want to see that one, so I'll probaby wait until it's out on DVD.

23. The name "Michael Bay" is all I need to know.
I suspect this will be another crapfest from the king of big budget crapfests.

My apologies to the people here who want to see it, but I tend to avoid movies based on toy action figures.

25. i do but i have to wait until i go on vacation because my daughter has no interest in seeing
it so my sister and i will be going. You would think that after all the movies i've taken this kid to see and some of them were beyond awful that she would be willing to suck it up and go see this one--one movie with me but no. She is taking me to see "Sicko" on my birthday though.

34. Yes
Saw it in the theater, in fact.

It looked WRETCHED, I mean IMMEDIATELY BAD, and trailers have never steered me wrong in 30 years. (Based on sometimes eventually seeing the shitty looking movies I avoided in the first place and being reminded why).

Looks like a 2 hour ad for toys I am not even nostalgic about, being that they and the cartoon debuted when I was in high school.

:hi: :bounce:

But give me a good goddamned story to go with it! *grump* :D

I will say that Transformers probably is no worse than Evan Almighty, lol. Another one I am avoiding.

Besides the new Die Hard movie, SiCKO is on the agenda.

Starring:

Leonard Nemoy
Scatman Crothers
Eric Idle
Robert Stack
and Orson motherfucking Welles

I shit you not. I'd like to see Spielberg top that.
