Okay, I am buying into the iPhone hype
I really really really really really really want one.

It is one of the few things that has been overhyped recently that I find myself wanting.

1. As good as Apple is-I would wait for the next model
I have to say that I am supremely impressed with all the details that were clearly thought out with respect to the iPod I and my wife got each other for Christmas (yes we are aware that we bought them right before everything including toasters were about to incorporate the technology) and as picking as I can be about how things SHOULD work I have no real gripe yet.

2. True!
Thank you for bringing me back to sanity.

I still want one.

3. I would like one someday
I am a weird bird in that I can appreciate the new gadgets, but am pretty patient with wanting things. I figure the price will either come down or the thing will improve or both. They are neat though, but I don't really feel any burning need to have one.

4. I want one but I can wait.
There are still a few bugs that I want ironed out first. I really want everything streamlined and in one machine. Right now, I've heard too many complaints about how slow AT&T is.

6. AT&T is my current carrier anyway
I have had very few issues with them.

7. I had some issues with AT&T many years ago
on my landline as my long distance. I've never quite forgiven them.

Since you already have them it shouldn't be such a big deal, though I've heard that the service offered for the iphone is very slow. Me-I'm waiting for the border for Cricket to expand a bit more. Cricket has a darn good deal for cells in general. Once it extends about 15 more miles I'll be able to pick one up.

12. Cricket does not have coverage where I live
Nor do they have coverage where my parents live - two places I would likely be using the phone.

I am very interested in their service when they do open up in the two markets.

14. Cricket has one of the best deals out there, IMO.
$50 for unlimited time, texts and pics? Darn good deal. The kicker for me is no contract. I hate signing a contract since you never know what will happen tomorrow, not to mention a year from now.

If they open the border I'm signing up. Less than 20 miles from me is where the Cricket line ends.

15. Currently they are in San Diego county
Once they hit south Orange County, I may be telling the death star to hit the road.

I would get slapped with roaming when I go to the Twin Cities though.

19. They are in KC
and stretch out a bit into the 'burbs. If they just barely stretch over the county line I'm in.

I really love the package offered and even more so love the idea of no contract. I've also heard great things about Cricket from people who have it-except for the roaming in some areas bit.

8. That's my argument.
$600 and I'm stuck w/ AT&T? No way.

Get rid of AT&T and I'll think about it, though I heard the contract between the two was a five year deal.

I'm sure the price will go down in several months.

16. Personally, I want an iPhone shuffle.

Also, reasons iPhone is lame (or so I've heard):
- You can't use your iTunes library for ring tones.
- You can't take video with the camera.
- You can't use the phone to buy music from from iTunes.
- No IM service, not even iChat.
- No 3G support.
- No GPS.

17. I want it badly too
but not quite enough to switch to AT&T. x(

Which is really a shame because my Verizon contract is up in a few months, and I really don't like their phone selection. x( x(
