I know of this person who is unemployed now, since I have been through that situation before, I have been giving them hopefully uplifting suggestions. They still have no employment, my situation is fantastic now and I told them this is what could happen if you work at it, you can make it and be in the position that I am in now. So they get all mad at me for my good fortune now, as they are still unemployed. I understand their feelings, but there is not a lot I can do for them job wise. What would you do in this situation?

1. Give that person some room. |
|
He or she is obviously going through a trying time and is not where you are financially or professionally. It's not your fault, but I can see how this person might feel inadequate in your presence. :)

2. Your friend is not mad at you for your "good fortune" |
|
Your friend is mad at you for offering your "uplifting suggestions". When someone is down, the last thing they want is a comparison to someone who is doing better than them.
Instead of your suggestions, you might want to just lend your friend a supportive ear, a hug, maybe a nice dinner.
Since you asked, that is my opinion. Have a good evening.
