We had a marvelous time. I just try to be conscious of socio-political factors and wish I knew this before I went (travel sites don't do a good job in this regard in terms of reviews). We didn't swim much at all, but we did some. We did some boating and life jackets are mandatory. Most of those resorts are more about relaxing, good food, good drinks, and the opportunity for outdoor activities, but you definitely don't have to be a swimmer to have a good time.
