WAAAHHHH - have to go back to Texas tomorrow, and I DON'T WANT TO!! |
|
I've been with Bullwinkle925 for a wonderful three weeks (wonderful despite Mr. Bullwinkle being hospitalized - he's been home for two weeks and is doing much better). Tomorrow I have to return to the land of rain, heat and Bush. I will be happy to see my husband and kitties, especially the very ill Simba, but so, so sad to leave my family in California. I'm sitting here crying as I think about it. I really wish Mr. DTBK would get a job here, but I fear we'll be stuck in Texas for at least two more years.

2. He's going home tomorrow - hubby's picking him up |

Vet has done all he can without referring him for an ultrasound (which we're discussing, but may not be worth it if Simba is in the bad shape I've been led to believe he's in). I'm really anxious to see him, but dreading it too. He's being sent home on 3 pills twice a day (steroids, antibiotics, ??). I just want to try to keep him eating and drinking and give him lots of love. If an ultrasound turns out to be in the budget, we can do that and go from there. The plan right now is just to give him lots of love and try to keep him comfortable and happy for as long as possible.
Thanks for asking.

4. Yes, but not until about midnight |

Flight not supposed to arrive in Dallas until 10:51 p.m., and by the time I get off the plane and get my bags it'll probably be 11:45. We only live 10 minutes from DFW, though, so that's not bad. I sense very emotional times ahead.

7. Steroids will help Simba FEEL better at least... |
|
When my little Merlin was diagnosed with Feline Intestinal Peritonitis (FIP) the vet gave me some prednisone to help his appetite since I was having to feed him by syringe; otherwise he wouldn't eat or drink enough.
It helped him feel much better, so that while his life was much too short (five months), he was interested and engaged and happy until the very last day.
Your being back will make Simba feel even better. I hope things improve for the little guy...and for you!
