2)Bumper quotes (snippets from movies, etc like everyone else)
3)Sidekick
4)Daily segments ("Talking Points," etc)
5)Callers--yes or no? And if yes, filter out the Freeps or not?

1. how about a freeper-of-the-day segment

where al dissects and skewers some hapless, dipshit freeper.

also, don't screen out freeper calls. the best advertisement for voting democratic is the exposure of right wing idiocy.

2. Franken Factor

1) Tunes by any (good) musician who has been outspoken about the right wing. Steve Earle, RATM, Mellencamp. Dixie Chicks? Willie Nelson!

2) Can't really think of any. Although, any time some RW hack goes on about "freedom," I'd love to hear Dread Pirate Roberts say "You keep on using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

3) Guest sidekicks. Mix it up. Performers, activists, politicians. Primarily progressives (of course), but I'd also like to hear from McCain-type conservatives as well.

4) "Talking Points" is great.
"Hypocrite of the Day"--Ed Gillespie being offended by Nazi refs, OxyRush, you get the idea.
"Under the Radar"--crap that the right-wing is trying to sneak past us, brought out into the light of day.
"Headlines from Around the World"--you know, frivolous, unimportant stuff like Cheney's impending indictment in France.

5) Franken could take any caller. Bring 'em on.
