Should I rent my home to visiting Super Bowl fans? |
|
It's a nice 3 bedroom but I wouldn't call it luxurious the way the other websites are advertising. Would it be better to cut the middle man (rental agency) to pocket the money 100%? Does anyone have any prior experience with this?

1. I have no experience with it............ |
|
but as long as there is a way to make sure prospective renters are normal and safe people, then I say, go for it.

Get it prepaid.. and have a refundable damage deposit.. You could even "sell" parking if you have a decent sized driveway.. :)
Call nearby hotels and ask what their suite goes for per night.. You might even rent it by the room, and you could be the "host".. You could keep an eye on things that way.. They are really only going to sleep there..:)

I have no experience and no legal expertise for the record. However, contracts or no, you will be liable (have liability?), for anything they do or have done to themselves(drinking, drugs, disturbing the neighbors). Speaking of drugs, the government can take your house away even if you were out of town. Maybe I'm just the paranoid type. I like the idea, and hope you can profit but watch out.
