No-holds-barred look at the low-carb craze, GameSpy style
Funniest thing I've seen in a while....

http://www.gamespy.com/comics/dorktower/

But essentially true. The first time I saw the ad for Carl's Jr.'s Low-Carb Six-Dollar Burger I almost choked on the water I was drinking. Oh, and then the low-carb f**king BEER wars? They're gonna milk that poor cash cow drier than Death Valley before it's over.

2. the "experts" heads are exploding since the low-carb thing WORKS
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 01:32 PM by cspiguy
lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and lost 35 pounds. Lots of meat and cheese and eggs. Drives the knowitalls crazy but science backs it up. People thought smoking was good for you too until about 30 years ago. Carbs/Pastas/LowFat diets are out.

(The cartoon is funny but wrong about Atkins type diets - they say you have to control (not eliminate) carbs and you have to limit calories to a sane amount. Sodium is bad and bacon is not really recommended except in moderation. A small steak is perfect.

3. Exactly. Same results for me.
But people who are too addicted to carbs will say its a fad so they feel better.

5. I never say it's just a fad to make myself feel better...

And I'm addicted to Carbs. I just remind people to take a good does of vitamins every day and keep yourself healthy. Atkins is notoriously hard on your kidneys, and while I will probably never do it, I admire people who can. There's no reason to be nasty.

4. Um that burger is GOOD. It just doesn't have the BUN which is just
processed fake crap garbage anyway.

They got the idea from In n Out Burgers who've made a 'protein' burger for years, wrapping it in lettuce leaves instead of the buns.

It's GREAT. Just missing the bun is all.
