King Arthur movie due this summer
THere is a movie based more on historical fact than fanciful fiction
about Arthur coming out this summer. I hate the myth somewhat because it distorts the characters from what they are in the Welsh and British poems. (The French romance poems are fine but not what I call
dependable. Most of it is made up and selected from bardic traditions)

You can see the trailer at here:

Or at www.kingarthurmovie.com

Kiera ? from Pirates and Bend It Like Beckham is in it and its done
by Bruckheimer.

Looks like fun.

1. It might be as good as "Excalibur."
That movie set the standard for King Arthur fantasy movies.

As for the historical Arthur, most of the available evidence says he was a local warlord, not a King.

But the story just grew from there.

2. As long as it's better than TNT's version of Mists of Avalon.
I will be happy. I was so psyched for a Mists of Avalon mini-series but TNT made a mockery of a very good book. While I know it's not the "real" story but Mists made the characters so human and believable that it still is one of my favorite books. Having Morgan le Fey have a true motivation instead of being just portrayed as an evil bitch was brilliant.

3. I love that era
I would have given anything to have lived back in that era. Thanks for the message thread I will be the first one in line and they will have to pry me out of my seat in order to get me to leave the theater.
