3. WE had shag carpets.
We also had a couple of foster kids at the time. One of their chores was to rake the carpet with a little plastic rake. They still talk about it.

10. We HAVE shag carpet...
...nasty orange and yellow and some-color-in-between. Thankfully the majority of it is covered by furniture: downstairs office. It's my workspace for drafting, archietctural model building, and computer stuff. My stepdad uses half for maintaining his guns.

Did I mention its nasty colors? :puke:

9. Yeah, all that coarse yarn
and try explaining it to your parents when you're picking it out of your hair. And, in the summer, the walking around backward for a week to conceal suspicious abrasions. Them were the days.

It's polite language for "p*issed off". I never even considered alternative meanings (snort).

Pretty hard to explain ("I fell down the steps. Or else I got too vigorous with the loofah. Or the cat did it"). I think when I get old(er) I'm going to have that tattooed on my back.

edit, misspelling and had to remove all cleverness.

15. Had a house in the Hollywood Hills in the 60s. It had incredibly deep
green and purple shag in the living room. I was told by one of my roomies that several months after I moved out, one of my old girlfriends wandered out of the carpet with a dog we thought had run away, two stray cats, and a family of migrant workers.

I am allergic to the new soap. There's color and perfume on the toilet paper. Ask me for any excuse to cover a suspicious injury. Got a million of them.

Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 07:20 PM by Lostmessage
My Mom kind of adopted her when she was 15 and she lived with us until she was 21. That would have been a good excuse but I don't think my Mom would have known what it was.

were a dead giveaway as to what happened there.
