Anyone else ever been excised from Wikipedia or treated rudely by an editor?
I have had a link to my web site sitting on one page of Wikipedia for over a year. Now suddenly an editor there suddenly deletes it and warns me to not add it back in. After a few exchanges, they made it clear that they won't budge on this. Weird... my web site has been around 2 years longer than Wikipedia itself has, to boot. Anyone else ever had a run-in with one of these people, over content or links on their site?

Details, if you're interested, are at:

5. What's the deal with those people?
My link was on their site for almost a year, then suddenly they remove it, and they make it seem like if I put it back on their site, the entire Internet will come to a screeching halt, all of life on Earth will face extinction within minutes, and the entire universe will collapse onto itself in a black hole. Good lord, what is wrong with them? I have a link to a mountain of information directly related to the page that the link is on, yet they act like I am destroying the very foundations of society by wanting that link there.

7. Thanks - that actually makes me feel better.
I was pretty offended earlier today by the guy. My web site has been around 2 years longer than Wikipedia has existed, yet this little runt breezes through and decides on a whim that the link to my site is "inappropriate" - in spite of the fact that my site has literally 100 times the data than their page has on that particular subject. I doubt he even read a word of my web site before making that decision. I'm still kind of bitter about it, but you have relieved my anger a little - thanks.

8. I had them delete the article on my website
It was the right wingnut editor phase of Wiki. No great loss. It was a subset of the DU article, about websites that spun off from DU. Mine and a few others were deleted on relevance issues.

ps now I'm a Wiki editor myself.
