So, I have this moustache/beard trimmer, and it takes 3 AA batteries.. lately, the off switch hasn't been working.. I would turn it to off, but it would keep running.. so, I take out one of the batteries, and it keeps running.. ok.. so, I take another battery out (leaving only one in it).. and it still keeps running... it goes against everything I always thought I knew about electronics/electricity... what the fuck?? :wtf:

1. First, you'll need an OLD appliance technician and a YOUNG appliance technician.... |

I had a radio once that would do that. Needed 4 AA's, would run on one. A tech-savvy friend explained that it was simply draining the single battery 4 times as fast- some devices are wired that way.
Actually, he explained that doing that would give a single battery less than 1/4 the normal life, because the 4x-fast drain didn't give the chemicals inside enough time to generate more electricity. It would suck it dead so fast that the normal "recovery" wouldn't happen.
Which is why it used 4 in the first place.
