One of mine just burned out. I put it in less than a year ago. x(

4. Well, darlin', from my dead of the night bad math calculations,
a CFL left on 24/7/365 would need 8760 hours of burn power.

Just sayin'.....

5. Ya gotta buy the pricey ones, and that's all there is to it.
Those $2.00 specials do NOT last as long as the box claims.

6. Only one's I've seen around here are about $6 a pop.
Hopefully THEY will last a bit longer.

11. They do! (At least the $6.00 ones I've been getting)
And they will be cheaper in the long run, they just
have to last in the long run!

These were like two for $5 or somethin'.

Time to upgrade the swirlie cones.

8. Made that same mistake myself.
Got some jumbo bargain-pack at one of the big box stores;
10 bulbs for $25 or something like that. OY, what a ripoff.

Four $6.00 bulbs would have been a much better use of my cash.

10. Noted
Next time I'll get Phillips or whatever.

I wish they'd improve the tech to make 'em a little smaller, though. Right now I've got a couple in fixtures where I can't put the thing back on because the lamp's too big. But if I drop down to the 13-watt lamps, they aren't bright enough for those areas.

Sudden thought: Maybe that's characteristic of the cheap ones, too. They say a 13-watt CFL produces the same amount of lumens as a 60-watt incandescent lamp, but I think it's closer to a 40.

15. There are still a few around here, though you have to go to the 'burbs
to find 'em.

I loved working the "banana split special" days. It was a lot of fun!

Loved the burgers, and fries, and the dipped cones.

Hell, I loved just about everything on the menu. Still do!

Want me to send you a DQ burger?

You got my e-mail address? :D

I think there's still a DQ in Gilroy, which is about 18 miles from here. I know there's one in Los Banos, about 40 miles.

Here, there ain't a damned thing. x(

Oh, wait — except A&W, which has damned fine burgers its own self.

17. Make you a deal. You send me an A&W burger, and I'll send you a DQ burger.
Seems like a fair trade to me!

Then we can call each other and have gastronimical orgasms over the phone.

O,

wait,

I really didn't say that.
