That's because the National Weather Service says July's weather will probably mimic June's by bringing more torrential downpours that threaten to displace families.
The ground is saturated. All of the state's major river basins are at flood stage, according to the state Division of Emergency Management. And swollen creeks and lakes continue to rise with each rainfall.
The National Weather Service's forecast for the rest of the month is gloomy. "July is starting off pretty wet," weather service meteorologist Stacie Hanes said. "We will stay in this pattern with the upper-level low-pressure system over us that's creating a lot of moisture," she said. "It doesn't look like the pattern will switch."
