In the mood for some fractal art
I don't believe you've seen either of these before- I could be wrong. Both are original works created by me.

I hope you enjoy them.

1. That's nice stuff. What did you generate them with?

2. I have several fractal generators
The first one was done within Photoshop using the Kai's Power Tools 5 FraxPlorer plugin, and other plugins and tweaks for the background.

The second one was done with Ultra Fractal version 2.5.

6. It's magic.

Either that, or many years of experimenting with all the available software, and eventually creating my own style. I've been fractalizing since the old Windows 3.1 days. The first time I ever saw a fractal my jaw dropped to the ground and I fell in love with the entire concept. I've been creating my own since then.

8. Okay, I feel better then- I haven't been working years at it. Your stuff shows it!
Do you have a link to more?

9. Right now all my stuff is offline.
I was once very active (and well known) within the online fractal community, but much has happened to me and I've had to back off to concentrate on other things. I had a web site set up, but after changing ISPs several time it's been too difficult to keep it going. That may change at some point.

I've created fractal art screensavers and at one point even designed a CD collection but never had the opportunity to market it. That also may change.

11. Photobucket and similar sites are great, free places to host such stuff.
Sounds like you have been so deep into it, that you've forgotten how good it is, and that people -do- want to see it! Good on you. Thanks for sharing it, and best luck!

12. These two are hosted via Photobucket.
I much prefer my own web site, which I can structure the way I want it.

I DO know how good it is (my ego is healthy) and it's always been a dream of mine to create a series of poster sized framed works. That is now almost within my reach.

I'm not the only fractal artist who hangs out here- Hypno Toad also dabbles, and several others I don't have further info on.

There's a world-wide online fractal community, and it's well worth exploring. There's a hell of a lot of great art out there. Try Renderosity.com- that's a major hangout. I used to have a gallery there.

7. I know a guy who owns a sixty thousand dollar printer
(He owns a sign company.) I've begun re-rendering some of my better works at poster size with the intent of having some full-sized prints made for framing. One day fairly soon I hope to have a web site set up for selling them.

So far he's printed one for me, and everyone who's seen it has drooled over it. This guy's wife wants me to donate a copy for a charity auction. I gave him permission to print a copy for her if she wants to follow through with it.

Great things start with small concepts, eh?

13. Whoa! Very nice
Right now I'm looking for some relatively inexpensive software for designing mandalas. Since these are so gorgeous, you must have a lot of experience with graphic software. Can you recommend a good program for a complete novice? I'd probably be transferring these to fabric for quilts, so the detail doesn't have to be overly fine.

Thanks! Judy

14. Start here
http://www.seed-solutions.com/gregordy/Software/Mandala.htm

I DO have a mandala program somewhere in my archives, but don't know exactly where it is at the moment. This linked web site has a freeware program you can download as well as links to other sites you can expand your research to.

Good luck.
