I'll ask her to check (recovering from abdominal surgery). Mrs. V. is the Chiphead Goddess of the Universe.

Thanks for the suggestion! :hi:

Edited on Sun Jul-08-07 02:06 AM by antiwarwarrior
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Yarrow - down toward the bottom of the page.

This led to an incredibly funny interview, starting with Tony's first question: "Where are you now? Are you in my house?"

Oh - to answer the question, "Rex", by Reykjavík, off of a mixtape that came from a magazine that I found at Borders. (Boy, is that convoluted.)

I decided not to turn on iTunes or anything, because Oktoberain is 6 feet from me, immersed in a book, and i can't find my headphones.

I figure the incessant clickety-clack of the keyboard is enough of an annoyance.

My Mom used to play their albums for me all the time when I was little. I loved their version of the Marvelous Toy. Peter, Paul, and Mommy is a great kid-album. Much preferable to that KidzBop crap they push on teevee.

41. Interpol's Our Love To Admire
On the AOL listening party. Personally, I'm really bored by it. It's certainly no Antics.

Earlier:

Kelly Clarkson - My December (highly recommended! Combines her pop/rock with some Evanescence style, making her own unique thing)

A few songs from Sheridan on MySpace - very promising pop/rocker. Tim Feehan did good things with Tiffany, so I expect I'll be buying her CD. The CD doesn't have a release date yet, but should be out this year.

Also at the AOL listening party. CD is decent so far, but could be a grower. She has a little Norah Jones, but is closer to Tristan Prettyman.

This week, I'll be listening a lot to Aly & AJ's Insomniatic, the Smashing Pumpkins' Zeitgeist, Lisa Mychols's Sweet Sinsations, and Bedsit Poets' The Summer That Changed. All are on pre-order.

47. Decemberists!
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7hb_Q_1MhEY
Here I dreamt I was an architect

And here I dreamt I was a soldier
And I marched the streets of birkenau
And I recall in spring
The perfume that the air would bring
To the indolent town
Where the barkers call the moon down
The carnival was ringing loudly now
And just to lay with you
There's nothing that I wouldn't do
Save lay my rifle down

And try one, and try two
Guess it always comes down to
Alright, it's okay, guess it's better to turn this way

And I am nothing of a builder
But here I dreamt I was an architect
And I built this balustrade
To keep you home, to keep you safe
From the outside world
But the angles and the corners
Even though my work is unparalleled
They never seemed to meet
This structure fell about our feet
And we were free to go

And try one, and try two
Guess it always comes down to
Alright, okay, guess it's better to turn this way

And here in spain I am a spaniard
I will be buried with my marionettes
Countess and courtesan
Have fallen 'neath my tender hand
When their husbands were not around
But you, my soiled teenage girlfriend
Or are you furrowed like a lioness
And we are vagabonds
We travel without seatbelts on
We live this close to death

And try one, and try two
Guess it always comes down to
Alright, it's okay, guess it's better to turn this
But I won, so you lose
Guess it always comes down to
Alright, it's okay, guess it's better to turn this way

48. I heart the Decemberists
I ALMOST met Colin Meloy when I went to see Arcade Fire in concert back in May. He was there to see the show and when I was outside the venue he was standing no farther than arm's length from me, facing me, and I didn't say anything.

I only have Picaresque and The Crane Wife, but I want all their CDs.
