Thank you DU,
My father did not pay for my undergraduate school. My father did not pay for my law school. I completed all by the age of 25.
He never made me feel unaccomplished until I graduated from law school.
It hurts...more than I thought, I guess...

Your post was sparse. It was interesting, but the lack of words made it really hard to respond to.

I ought to take a bow...
My father left when I was 12-15 (I don't remember when) and I never held it against him. He provided for my sister in many ways (rent, tuition, etc, and it never bothered me.
Until I graduated from law school and did not even receive a card...
And on Father's Day, I didn't get the card to him on time - paid for his dinner - and he mentioned how "hurt" he was to my sister.
Like I said, it never affected me until that...

4. He is a dick... Harsh, but true. |

I would be pissed if I was you.. But, it sounds like he doesn't care about you that much. He cares about himself, that is about it.
It sucks, but we can't really choose our parents. I would spend your energy to take care of yourself first. Everything else will fall into place.
I'm drunk.. grain of salt and all that. I wish you the best of luck.
