1. It's happened plenty of times before.

Eventually it's going to happen again. I guess we'll know more about it when our scientists determine for sure what caused it to happen in the past.

7. OMG - you should have seen the film they had at Live Earth about that

I think the whole stadium in New Jersey was puking. They talked about how cows produce all this methane and the entire commericial was of cows pooping

10. There have been thousands of pole reversals in the earth's history

The paleomagnetic record (very readily observed at tectonic spreading centers) shows scores of pole reversals, each of them without a corresponding fluctuation in global climate.

8. As others here have said, it's happened before, but warming doesn't show up in ice cores

that are used to determine previous weather cycles.

I could be wrong.
