One of my uncles passed away over the weekend
He had lung cancer, but we are not sure if the cancer took him or the oppressive heat and humidity in central Wisconsin took him. He lived in a shack on a farmer's land (he was a hobo-ish, live off the grid kind of person), with no electricity, ergo, no fans or A/C.

To say he was the family character is putting it quite mildly. Sad thing is, he used to be of genius level intelligence, but drank too much alcohol, and used too much acid, and basically killed off most of his brain. My experience of him was that he was a gentle soul (although I have heard stories that he used to be quite violent). I always felt a strong connection with him, especially as a child, even though he was considered anti-social. He had a sense of childlike joy about him.

Uncle J - be at peace in the Summerlands, you are whole and loved.

I am so sorry, sweetie...

Isn't it something....we always seem to be closest to the family character?
