We just got the sweetest sympathy card from our vet |
|
I admit I was kinda upset with him about being a little sarcastic with me from time to time, but I do think he did his best for Simba (not that there was anything much to be done). He took the time to write a long note about how sweet Simba was and that we did the right thing by having him euthanized. Even our beloved vet in Wichita didn't take the time to write such a nice note when we had Guinevere put to sleep in 2000. I am very impressed and touched by this gesture.

1. The card we got from the vet when my childhood pet died really got to me |
|
I cried my eyes out when I read it. Plus, on the front of the card was an old dog (looked like a golden retriever) standing on the top of a hill looking toward the sunset and the picture just killed me. It was incredibly touching.
My condolences to you.

3. How touching - I'm glad when vets take the time to do this |
|
This card has an orange tabby (which Simba was) sitting with its closed while a little yellow dog looks at it lovingly. WAAAAAHHHH!

He wasn't the one who euthanized Simba - we took him to an emergency clinic last Sunday because we didn't want him to suffer all day Sunday and into Monday. IT'S SO HARD!!!!

8. Yes, it is - especially this vet |
|
As previously stated, I haven't always been thrilled with him. This reveals a very human side. Mr. DTBK liked him a lot from the brief interaction he had with him when he picked Simba up. Perhaps I was wrong about him.

6. I had to put two cats down within months of each other |
|
Dolly for kidney failure, and Piggy because he quit eating after my ex and I broke up. (suicide) and the low income vet we used took the time to write us cards for both.On an intersting note, when we took Dolly in to be put down, the vet tech said, "they always come back"...and I see a lot of Dolly in my cat Barney.Just something to think about........
