2. Other: only if they wanted to.
Cats do what they want. I'm sure they'd work hard enough to get to the treats, and open the fridge. :)

5. What do you think WE humans are for?
They don't need to be any smarter, they already have us doing all the work for them-in that I feel like I work to bring home a paycheck in order to maintain the lifestyle my cats are accustomed to!:D

6. My cats love to work, in fact they are the supervisors around here.
The only thing they feel I should do without their help is vacuum; but only because the sound is so annoying to them.

7. No, they would rule the earth and enslave humanity.
In fact, they already kind of do.

Hmm....

13. Listen, I brought my kitty back from the shelter just about 6 years ago
and after she hid under the bed for an hour, she cautiously peeked out of the bedroom doorway, saw me watching TV in the living room and immediately jumped onto my lap, purring and cuddling me. Like my heart didn't melt, right?

By hindsight, the manipulation is pretty obvious. She saw an easy mark, charmed her way into my heart and has had a willing minion ever since.

Cats are intelligent enough! Even with brains the size of walnuts, the furry little sociopaths somehow get us to indulge their every whim.

12. I reject the premise.
Cats are smart enough to have figured out how to live very well without doing any work at all.

14. You err by anthropomorphising. 'Work' does not exist in the feline dimension.

15. if cats were MORE intelligent, i'd be very VERY scared.
if they ever figure out how to open tuna cans on their own...mankind is DOOMED.

cats work...?
they are already so far beyond the concept of "work", than most humans will ever be able to comprehend.

17. Cats work
Cats are great rodent killers. They do a much better job of killing rodents than I do.
