Our AC is busted - but that's a good thing
We've improvised and found great ways to keep cool. But it's hella hot.

1. The novelty's going to wear off.
Probably fairly quickly.

2. We have ceiling fans on both floors
Open the windows on the non-sun facing sides of the house - it gets cooler.

Again, it's no cooler than 78 F

5. 78 F is the recommended setting for your air conditioner (when working)
when we are having heat-wave affected power overloads. When you come in from 105 F outside, 78 F feels downright refreshing!

6. Yeah but I'm a bad person
I set it to 75 usually :(

And in cold weather, I like it at 68 or 70

3. Lol! I just went downstairs and my husband was writhing around
on the bed saying, "I can't stand it! It's too hot! I'm not gonna make it!"

The thermostat says it's 73 degrees.

:eyes:
:P

4. I think that hell must have erupted to the surface
that's the only explanation for the 90 degree, 100% humidity heat in Ohio. It's not uncommon in the midwest, but not for 3 damn weeks (though tuesday was nice, I'll grant the weather gods that)

7. I can't believe you just said this! Mine has been broken since last night.
I opened the freezer and took the ice bucket into the bed with me.

Now I am getting really uncomfortable and I'm waiting for those thieves that sold me a $500.00 "contract" the last time it broke, (which I got out of thank God.........I swear they sell these things real easy when you are melting.)

I don't know if I should call a different company or this one since they were here in March and the thing should not have gone out IMO.

Are you going to have someone fix yours? I am getting seriously miserable here.

8. We've had this looked at before - the AC isn't really busted
It's that we need an attic fan to cool off the attic for the AC to work properly

We've been putting off that purchase for a while
