Why does the dork on Versus keep saying "Tour DAY France"?
And why can't they just let paul sherwin and phil ligget do the entire broadcast?

1. Probably for the same reason an old radio co-worker of mine pronounced Guy Forget....
just exactly as you might suspect he did.

3. Ever see this odd little Preminger film, 'Such Good Friends'?
There's a rather anal exchange in it between Ken Howard and a French waiter on the proper pronunciation of "monsieur." It's not in the memorable quotes, though. :(

2. Sort of an inside joke between Bob and the others.
And Paul and Phil do the entire broadcasts, except for the prime time recap, when they now have Al and Bob on, presumably to "Americanize" it for us. Just another reason I get up early and watch the live feed every July.

4. If you don't like it, you should move to Porda Rico.

5. He's a rogue and it's done intentionally.
:D
I think he does it just to piss off people who really are picky about things like pronunciation.

6. Was funny in 1999, kinda old now.
Actually, the best answer to this is to NOT watch the rebroadcast in the evening when they overdub the days action after the race. The live commentary with Phil and Paul is superb.

7. Sadly, we can't watch live coverage on our tv anyway.
I hardly ever watch tv, so we just pay for the basic cable service, which unfortunately doesn't cover the Tour Day France. :( Sigh.
