1. When I was 6 and the judge said that killing my classmate was something called "illegal".
Edited on Tue Jul-10-07 03:38 PM by Rabrrrrrr
What a bunch of bullshit. I said, "What?! There are no limits on MY behavior, fat man!" and I spit in his face, learning that there are, indeed, limits on my behavior.

It was bullshit then, and it's bullshit now. I should be able to do whatever I want.

:harumph:

3. i spoke with your treatment team
and they want to cycle 80 mg of haldol with preemptive cogentin.

jello biafra's utterance of "god told me to skin you alive" was for artistic purposes, not a command.

12. When I was 17...
...just about the time the guy in the Drill Instructor's hat jumped onto the bus and started doing the eyes-bulging, spit-showering, crimson-faced, screaming-obscenities thing.

Somehow, it did not bode well for my "the world revolves around me" lifestyle which, until that point, I had pursued with great gusto...

:D

24. I remembered thinking seriously about this when I was3
I wondered if other people felt and experienced reality like I did.
Around the same time, my parents were divorcing and it became apparent the the world revolved around them and not me or my sister.

25. i think i was about 7

anyway, from what i could see of the stars (this was in the city), the moon, and the towering chicago skyline in the distance, i became aware of how big the world was.

when i first sobered up around age 18 (1988), i became a very serious young man and very mindful of others, very mindful of the moral and philosophical implications of my behaviors and activities. i would always be nonplussed at seemed like the obliviousness of other people who never took the time to consider that there were even other people around them, let alone being aware of their very small place in the universe.

i spent a lot of time alone from about 1989 - 1999.

i'm still alone in many ways, but i'd rather have that than be around people i have absolutely nothing in common with, but who share similar life experiences with me on one level.

i find it easier to deal with fishermen, naturalists, and other outdoorsy types. they at least recognize that there are rhythyms outside of oneself. i think nature is the only way to attain any true sense of self.
