Give me some book recommendations - fictional thrillers please. |
|
Preferably medical or legal thrillers so I can figure out my next few orders.
And yes, I'm waiting for the Harry Potter book!

2. I love that description! |

It reads like Dolly Parton looks. (Oh, wait, that's Tom Robbins.)
I'm currently reading "The Broker" by John Grisham. It's my first Grisham book. It's kind of a legal/political thriller.

3. Have you read Patricia Cornwell's books? (m) |

Also, I love both Jonathan Kellerman's books and also Faye Kellerman's book. She happens to be his wife. I wasn't overly impressed with the books they've written together, however.

pretty good stuff. Other thrillers, Lee Child, Baldacci. Good stuff, not terribly memorable, but entertaining. Some great crime novels are written by Reginald Hill (I'm a shill for Hill). His Dalziel and Pascoe series is great (very British tho). Craig Russell writes books about a detective in Hamburg if you like a change of scenery. Stuart Pawson is another British crime novelist, although you probably won't find him in the States. Frederick Forsyth books are good, and so are the Bourne books.
I read a LOT due to commute time ;)

Legal/medical thrillers that are pretty intelligent, and touch on topics that make you think. They are pretty locationally-driven, though (MS and LA), so they may not be for everyone.

A WWII/cold War spy thriller that edges into the paranormal. It's terrific.

His 'heros' are Lt. Joe Leaphorn and Sgt. Jim Chee, both Navajos.
You not only get entertained you sometimes learn something about Indian culture at the same time.

What a page-turner. And written before 9/11, so it's extra chilling.
And funny. The internal thoughts of the hardboiled NYC cop crack me up.
