This woman, who was only 34, was my sister's teacher/adviser/mentor while my sister was getting her master's at the Yale Divinity School. My sister told me she would not have been able to get through her graduate program without her help.

My sister was informed yesterday that Lana died on Saturday in a car accident while vacationing in Russia.

My sister told me Lana graduated HS at 16, College at 20 and was one of the smartest people she had ever met.

I met Lana just once. We had a beer together during a picnic a few springs ago on the Yale campus. What a tragic end for this beautiful person.
