Hey people, I need some DU Lounge advice please!
Found some seepage in a couple spots in my house. First thought was that the cats were pissed and pissing...but nope, wrong color and no odor. Seems to be coming from UP. OK, call the plumber. :scared: Nice plumber guy (without lowrise moonpants) checks down in crypt and crawlspace... dry as a bone- no leakage. His verdict: "It has nothing to do with plumbing- all your pipes, even the ones under pressure are fine and nothing is leaking."
Still, there is something coming up from the floor. Any ideas about who would be good to call?
Thanks...

7. Not sure what else to call it... |
|
...a 10' X 10' cinderblock and cement-lined space that is accessed via a trapdoor in the laundryroom floor.
And no, no cryptkeeper. Thankfully...

What I want to know is, if the plumber was in the crawl space and it's dry -- how is your floor wet?
Are your air ducts under the floor and possibly sweating up through the subfloor? But water would flow DOWN not up.
Could it be sap coming out of the wood floors or subfloor?

6. seepage under concrete? under floor boards? |
|
if it's up from concrete it could be water wicking up from the ground, especially if it's been a particularly wet season. Do you have a sump pump and is it working? My house started getting random wet spots in the middle of my basement this past spring and I was told that it likely was because the ground down to the permafrost level was saturated and the excess moisture was being wicked up onto my concrete.
