Anyone going to see "Order of the Phoenix" today?
Anyone going today?

Anyone go to a 'midnight screening' last night?

We want to go, but with my missed work (cusses at stitches), we'd better be more prudent with our money for a couple of weeks.

oh... and here's a less "Harry"/more "hairy" Daniel Radcliffe pic that a friend sent me.
Thought i'd share.

1. I don't know what you are talking about...
I would interpret that as a no.

2. New "Harry Potter" flick... that's all.
There's probably more *squee* energy about the final book (coming out in 10 days)

5. Do the book and the movie share the same plot?
I'm curious.

6. This movie is based on the 5th book... the new book is the 7th.
They were a little more in sync before the making of the 3rd film ("Prisoner of Askaban"), because one of the major supporting actors (Sir Richard Harris, who played Dumbledore) died before filming was complete, and it took forever to re-cast and re-shoot.

7. I'm going with some friends at 10:40 tonight, after work.
Which means I get to stand out in 100 degree heat for three hours, then go to the theatre all sweaty and disgusting. x(

8. At least you're GOING...
*pouts*

I would gladly trade sticky floors and the smell of a days-worth of packed-house armpits to be able to go today.

9. If I can get tickets to the 4:40 show I
might take my daughter. I think that might be a good time-people still at work in some places and it'll air during family dinner time. We can make an afternoon of it and grab some burritos from the nearby Taco Bell drive thru after the movie.

10. I went to a midnight showing
LOVED IT. The casting for Luna was dead on.

I'll admit there were a couple pacing problems with the development of relationships, but there were a lot more positives.

11. I figured that they would have to do a lot of 'shaving' of the story...
The friggin' book was 860+ pages long... to do EVERYTHING, you'd have to do a LOTR-styled 3-parter!

Glad to see the first good review!

12. I actually didn't like the book all that much
in comparison to the others. I thought it was too much of a bridge with too little of it's own substance. But the movie does a good job of taking the best of the book. Some things are left out which I enjoyed in the book, but overall it did a good job of getting us ready for 6.

13. I've stopped going to movies on opening night
because they attract all the jr high and high school kids, and our theater wont do anything about them making noise or kicking seats or talking on phones during the film.
