What's it like where you are?

Not just weather or politically, but everything....

How would you describe where you are right now?

Me? I'm at home working, and it's nice and cool inside and out. Windy, but sunny. Quiet.

Acid King smolders on the jukebox.

And the neighborhood is all Gen-X and Gen-Y soccermoms and dads...

1. Just got back from walking the dogs in the pouring rain

Acoustic blues is playing softly, sipping a beer
Life is good
The hounds will probably start stinking though

2. At home, listening to my 13 yr old son drumming away in his room

the house is a mess, as we're packing up for a two week trip back east. I've got lists going everywhere.

3. Lucy, the next-door beagle, is at my feet.

It's hotter than hell out there and she came to the back door looking for a cool spot.
CNN's on for background noise.
Looks like there's a breeze out on the dock, so may sit out there for a while.
Just put a new swing up.

4. Cool inside, cool outside,

it smells like pie and spray paint. Blue-collar neighborhood. Somebody needs to repaint their leprechaun-green trim, and the large man who sits in his underwear on the front porch of the house on the corner needs to finish residing the freaking house he started residing two years ago. I think there is a transient living in my garage, or someone needs to stop making "beds" with tarps and towels in there.

5. just let my cat back in

cause it's dark, thundering and threatening to pour. taking a break in between doing loads of laundry, which I absolutely hate doing. (the laundry that is, not the break ;) )

6. It's been hot as hell and excessive humidity.

I'm in the house right now, and it's cool and pleasant. It poured down rain about an hour ago. The humidity went from awful to hellish just after that. :P

This time of year, the weather sucks in NC.

8. In the Pacific Northwest, which is supposed to be cool and green,

it's hot and brown.
