3. Really catches the metaphor of Superman:
Inside every Man there is a Superman.

Intelligence, education, and morality are what set us apart from the animals -- and what sets Superman apart from the villains he fights.

The best among us get dirty at times. And often work two jobs.

I may be a crackhead, but I swear that, in a thousand years, people will remember us for our superhero literature, much like our culture seems to define the Middle Ages as much by its Arthurian legends and Robin Hood tales as by their Chaucers and "Romance of the Roses.".

Have you heard the version off the NPR Mountain Stage CD? a little more raw, but I really like it; Warren Zevon does a fantastic version of "Renegade" on the same CD. I can't remember which volume it was, but I'll see if I can find it in my pile of CD's...

9. that's the one, thanks for the link, hubby has a burnt CD scrawled with a felt pen...
'country mix', with Timbuk 3, Doc Watson, Marty Stuart, Cowboy Junkies, his Cajun music, etc; he put it on coming home and that song came up rolling through miles & miles of summer corn here in the central valley and i thought how pretty the music was, and the lyrics = very cool :hi:
