Great new album: Spoon, "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga"

This is really one of my favorites of the year.

Most of you will likely know at least one Spoon song off their last album (Gimme Fiction), since it got heavy airplay, and appeared in a really snazzy Jaguar commercial and a few television shows: think a heavy bass line and "I turn my camera on/ I cut my fingers on the way (I feel me slippin' away)."

In any case, the new album is really tightly done. This is a band known for "minimalism," whatever the hell that means anymore, but cut out the art school talk and the album manages to stand tall on its own merits, and I think I really like minimalism, whatever that means.
