3. I think they did but I think they were more on the order
of things like komodo dragons where their saliva would melt your skin or whatever; I believe that is probably what they meant by 'fire-breathing dragons', etc.

22. Of course I was not intimating that they were all that way.
My first grade teacher was the equivalent of Florence Nightingale.
See I got off to a perfect start and it could only trail off.
Nice to see you Dream.

10. Well, some dinosaurs were pretty bloody close weren't they?
Minus the fire breathing part, which I'm not really sure is a requirement for dragons.

15. maybe not in the literal sense
there was a show on either the History channel or Discovery where they have found evidence that the "fire breathing dragon" was really meteorites flaming down to the ground. The villagers had no concept of "rocks in space" and were so frightened that the only explanation they could come up with was that a dragon must have attacked.

23. I hope so too
Scientists are still discovering new species of dinosaurs - and not just tiny chicken sized ones, but big carnosaurs and the like. If something bigger than a T Rex clearly once existed and remained unknown to science until the 21st century, who the hell is to say a dragon-like creature never existed? I'm sure there are billions of species who once existed whose fossils were never preserved and thus will never become known to humans. The dragon mythology is too global for it to not be based on any kind of creature that at some point existed in the world, even if the only "evidence" we ever have were tales handed down through generations of mankind back to prehistoric times.

24. You have To Wonder Though...
Where did the medieval folks get the idea...did they find fossils we don't know about...did they see something we never will? Who knows.
