Today's harvest

Ok I'm probably boring most of you to death with my garden pictures, but I get excited about growing things with my own two hands. (and yes, that sounds a little pervy to me too). Here is today's harvest; two zucchinis, the first cucumber, sweet peas, and wild blackberries (from my yard, for color) :) Oh yeah, I had planted those marigolds too, but my big oaf of a dog stomped those over, so I put in a vase.



And here is a view of the garden. The monster zucchini plants are slowly taking over the back end.

If memory serves, (which it rarely does) I remember you saying you had no feelings for chocolate. But.. hey, its not like you are going to eat it or anything.

I guess it depends on what you would like smeared all over your body. I'm somewhat flexible and would only hop in to break a hold or something. If you like I'll even wear pants for the Big Event.

My squash and cukes aren't ready quite yet, but the peas and peppers are coming in, and the currants and gooseberry picking has turned into a full time job.

And my one tomatillo plant is threatening to become as big as the house. I haven't done the math, but it covers a 6x6 foot area, and if it were 2 dimensional, it would have about 3 fruit for every sq. inch, I think. I'm frightened by what's going to happen when those all ripen.

They are just little green things right now. They are supposed to turn orange in color. I have tomatoes too. I can't keep up with my lettuce however. :D

bake a cobbler. The problem is I always get more chiggers than blackberries regardless how much insect repellent I use.

25. I don't have a real recipe, but I'll tell you how I make mine.

Mix fresh blackberries with enough sugar to suit your taste and let them sit for about 20-30 minutes so they get nice and juicy. Put them in the bottom of a greased baking pan. I like to make the layer of berries a couple of inches deep. Mix up your favorite biscuit dough (I use a mix) adding about 1/4 cup of sugar. I sometimes add a little melted butter and a spoonful of sour cream. You can roll the dough out and cover the berries or make it a little softer and just drop it in blobs over the berries. Bake at 400-425 until brown, cool slightly and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.

Well sort of South Eastish. It days get almost a full day of sun, so was the best place for it (and luckily most convenient as well!)

I have a few jalapenos and a patch of parsley that's doing well. My tomatoes are the size of golfballs and pale green. No lettuce, no zucchini, nothing that compares with yours! Nice work. :7

:hi: Our zucchini and squash plants are monster ones this year too. :) It's made for a great harvest so far, and there are lots of blooms left to mature. I also picked our first ripe tomato this morning. Cucumbers, green beans, eggplant, and peppers still left to mature....:D
