there was a turkey on campus yesterday |
|
I mean a wild turkey.
And while that may not be unusual on some campuses, I'm in Boston.
I've seen lots of bunnies over the years, and of course we're overrun w/ squirrels because you can't drive on campus.
But a turkey... that was pretty cool.
I wish I had had my camera with me.

:hi: I love seeing atypical stuff on college campuses. When I worked at a women's college not long back, we had a beautiful hawk that loved to perch on my window-unit AC (it's an old college and didn't have central air at that time). When the assistant director and I went outside for lunch one day, we saw the hawk up in a tree in the square eating a squirrel he'd caught. We also had a deer that bolted through campus once---poor thing was scared and didn't know where to go. She darted into the woods, which was the best place she could have gone.

3. I have a dozen or so who live on my property. |

Will Pitt says that they own and I just rent! I love to watch them. They are very pretty birds, especially the male when he does his mating dance.
