Does anybody really give a sh*t about the Beckhams?
(a) It's SOCCER. Not like it's a real sport or anything, as far as Americans are concerned.

(b) She's a washed up pop diva.

Who cares?

Remember the Spice Girls? She probably doesn't want anyone to remember she was a brunette. Now the hair is FAKE, the boobs are FAKE, and the last facelift is godawful!

I'm not sure why so many good-looking brunettes decide to go blonde, as it rarely looks better on them. And yet, millions of them keep doing it... Oh well, I guess it's kind of a dumb thing to actually waste any time thinking about on my part! haha

28. I said nothing about bowling or golf.
I made a derisive comment about a sport that in decades has failed to catch fire in America, except with pre-teen kids and their minivan-driving suburban moms.

And it was said in jest, IN THE LOUNGE, so whatever.

Having said that, I repeat, does anybody really give a fat rat's ass about the Beckhams? What was his contract again, $250 MILLION????

I ain't buyin' the hype.

39. Your response
is reflective of an attitude that the rest of the world perceives as arrogance.

If it's not popular in America it must somehow be wrong or insignificant...

$250 million...Far less than your political leadership raised from its banking and insurance donors.

Yes...I think Beckham's arrival in the US is of interest...

Important enough to start a whining thread about...No..

Arrogance? I don't think so. I just don't care for it. Several hours with no score? Not my bag. But I guess Americans are just "arrogant" by definition, eh?

And for third worlders who live for years on what he makes in about a minute, Beckham says "suck it, baby, I'm going to L.A."

49. Football? Or soccer?
Beckham definitely ain't NFL material. A little scrawny for a linebacker (or any other position, for that matter) ...

And no, I don't know shit about soccer. Don't care to. I tried once, during the World Cup. It bored me to tears. Pele's the only other soccer player whose name I know ... so if you're a soccer snob, EXCUUUUUUUUSE ME.

Seriously, just ignore it if you don't care about it. It's like when you are in a restaurant and you hear a goofy discussion about something you have no concern about. Just don't listen, and let those who do have their conversation. It's not like the MSM is relevant beyond entertainment news, anyway.

It's a big deal, because Becks is probably one of the (if not THE) most well known athletes on the planet. Alex Rodriguez would kill for his fame, I'm sure.

Even though he sounds dumb as a post, I think Becks is a fairly genuine person, who know he's lucky to be where he is (not that he didn't work hard, etc). Posh, on the other hand...I don't know. WAY too skinny, WAY too untalented. She is definately very close to Paris Hilton status.

this generation's Pele. In the 70s Pele was brought to the US with great fanfare to make soccer popular with the Americans, it didn't work then and I don't think it'll work with Beckham. The one thing that will happen is he will become even more obscenely rich.

soccer, aka the global football, is NOT a real sport?

Why is it that 2 of the biggest teams in england(Manchester United and Liverpool) are owned by Americans?

and when did you speak for MY sporting likes and dislikes?

Becks isn't a god, but he IS quite a sincere person who wants to grow soccer here in the states. And I'd rather have him and Victoria (aka Posh) posing about that seeing Pacman Jones getting arrested every 5 minutes (along with the entire Bengals team roster)
