The absolute best part about Harrison Ford in Air Force One.
He kicks those damn commies off his plane without removing his tie or his suit jacket. If he'd done it whilst holding a martini, I would have sworn it was Rabrrrrrr.

He is one heaping hunk of man. Ford, that is. Well, Rabrrrrrr too, of course.

3. Funny how the script and final product differed so much.
On paper, a lot of that movie may look cheesy, but when you have Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman going at it, it's actually pretty good.

:hi:

9. I really gotta watch that one some day.
I love Harrison Ford.

Thanks for thinking of me!

If I were president of the US, I think I would insist that I get to carry a gun.

10. There's actually a moment of realism in it
Even a president's cell phone battery can crap out. :D

11. LOL. Wasn't that a hilarious scene when he's trying to get
the switchboard operator to put him through? First, he can't remember the number. I love that scene.

13. The whole movie is utterly ridiculous
An "escape pod" on AF-1, plane-to-plane transfers by cable, two guys fighting on the open cargo door of a plane going 500 mph and not getting sucked out. :eyes:

Gotta admit, though, the action really hooked me.

14. I LOVE the plane-to-plane transfer scene!!!
I just wish that the bad guy hadn't killed the pilot.

And the parachute scene. That was SOOO cool.

I love when the 'Good Guys' show up as Ford is piloting the plane.

Great action flick.

15. Unfortunately, I'm one of those cursed 'realists'
You should've heard me hollerin' at the teevee during "Pearl Harbor" — especially during the dogfight scenes.

:grr:

16. LOL. My husband is the same way. He refuses to watch
anything like that because he has to comment on the inaccuracies. My dad did that as well.

I know it was schlock, but I also loved Independence Day. My dad would be rolling in his grave.

18. I sometimes wish I could just relax
and enjoy 'em for what they are, but nooooooooooooo. I've gotta holler, "Two kids in P-40s with no air combat experience canNOT out-fly the cream of the JNAS in A6M-3s!" — especially knowing that Lts. Taylor and Welch, upon whom the movie was very loosely based, actually shot down seven Japanese planes, of which only one or two were Zeroes.

(I've flown that mission many times, as Welch, in "Aces of the Pacific." Once, I got five of the bastards.) :D

I think when I do stuff like that, it's a reaffirmation that I know this stuff, that I'm "smart." Rather human, but quite annoying to those who just wanna watch the movie.

17. What about the Aegis equipped ships?
You'd think the attack wouldn't have been much of a surprise if they had modern radar

20. And especially as the soundtrack swelled up, they shoulda known something was gonna happen.
Sure, maybe not a Japanese air attack specifically - but come on, soundtracks don't swell like that unless something &(#*^&$ serious is about to happen. I can't believe an entire base wasn't listening.

and it said quite clearly, "Sunday, December 7, 1941" — I mean, HEEbus! What more did they NEED?!? :wtf:
