dog poop question
Ernie often ends up with about 2 or 3 very loose bowels after a big day of swimming in the bay. is that because of swallowing saltwater or exercising or what?

1. Probably the water...
My guess would be that he is swallowing the water which is probably not fit for canine consumption.

Salt can cause a dog to vomit, so it could cause the diarrhea too, probably.

Does he retrieve sticks from the water? He is probably ingesting some of it.

2. That is probably a question best answered by your Vet.

3. The bay is a salt water bay?

Salt is a laxative, among other things.

(as long as people aren't restricted from swimming, i.e. no pollution that could cause intestinal symptoms)

4. What? This is a serious post?
With a title like that in the lounge I was expecting, shock, surprise or at least the brazillion joke.

But yes, salt is a laxative that softens stools by adding moisture.
