My computer is talking down to me.

Instead of assuming I really know what "Exception 0x0000db in module AdD112444" or "Access Violation in twunk32.dll", my computer has decided to start talking down to me with "Something Bad Happened in AVG7.1. The Program Will Now Close".

Should I be insulted or relieved?

2. It's the AVG people who will talk bad to you.

You'll call up, or email or whatever, and they'll say, "What was the error message?"

And you'll reply, "What error message?"

And then, very condescendingly, they'll say, "Okay, there was no error message. What I want you to do is to restart the computer. Can you do that? Can you restart it? You can? Excellent! But just to be on the safe side, I want to walk you through it. Now go to 'start.' It's the green button on the bottom left-hand side of the screen..."
