Every night.. and I mean EVERY night, this guy sprays in my back yard. I have NO clue what hes spraying at but my whole house reeks, my ac unit just brings it in, leaving the windows open is even worse, and I am not closing my windows.
Wonder if that was my thoughful gift giver from the other day? Hmm.. Question is, is there a way to keep him from coming into my yard? Like with groundhogs I read if you put kitty litter remnants around his hole he wont come back to it or a dirty diaper in his hole, is there something for these smelly creatures?

1. Are you absolutely sure it's a skunk? |
|
The reason I ask is that for several years, we thought there was a skunk running around the neighborhood. Turns out, it was our next-door neighbor, who was growing about 700 pot plants in his house. Apparently, they "air out" the house at night, when fewer people would notice, and being a night owl, I was usually up to smell it.
Found this out from the cops who busted him (and who also found illegal weapons and fake ID making stuff along with the pot -- I'm SOOOO glad they caught that guy; not 'cause of the pot, but because of the other stuff, especially the guns!)

2. Since I never smoked pot before.. I never thought of that! |

Was it really potent? Make your eyes water from the smell? That is scary having a neighbor like that, shows you how much you really know the neighbors doesnt it?
I might just have to venture outside and see if I can follow the scent trail.

3. I did smoke pot back in the day, but never grew any, especially |

not 700 plants! So I had no idea either. Pot doesn't smell that way when it's being smoked, but apparently it's a real tell-tale sign when numerous plants are being "aired out" in a house. That's how the cops found this guy. They were in the neighborhood late one night, on a domestic dispute a couple of streets away, and noticed the smell. They found out the guy who was living next to us had a rap sheet, and started staking the house out (using our driveway and deck).
The owner has been working on the house for the past few months. I haven't seen the inside, but I think he totally gutted it and started over, and he's also completely re-doing the outside. Hopefully our next neighbor will be a bit better than the last one!
