wow.... 16 hours into today's World Series of Poker
... and they're still playing.

They started at noon, Pacific Time, with 36 players. They're trying to get down to 9 players who will appear at the final table on Tuesday.

They're now 16 hours into it, and have 10 players left. One poor guy will get bumped just before making it onto the cameras. But don't feel too bad - he'll take home almost $477,000 for his efforts.

First place will win 8.25 million.

The last big-time pro in the tournament was Scotty Nguyen, who got knocked out in 11th place.

1. I love poker
But I cannot bring myself to watch the final table on PPV. ESPN is actually offering the final 10 on PPV, with no hole card cameras.

The only name I still recognize is Lee Watkinson, who has about $10 million. He's won a WSOP bracelet in the past and has twice been at a WPT final table.

2. yeah
I'd love to watch the final table, but for some reason, my cable company doesn't offer it.

the online updates are a pretty good substitute, though.

4. What type of poker do they play?
I can't say that I have ever watched it on the telly.

5. this is no-limit Texas Hold'em
it's the Main Event of the World Series of Poker, which consists (this year) of 55 different events. This one is by far the largest, with over 6,000 entrants paying $10,000 apiece for a shot at the big prize.
