Girl Dies At Christian Music Festival While Riding 'Air Glory'
<snip>

Lifest attendees on Sunday laid flowers, lit candles and wrote messages of sympathy on poster boards to the family of a 16-year-old Neenah girl who died Saturday after falling from an amusement ride at the Christian music festival.

Elizabeth K. Mohl died in surgery at Theda Clark Medical Center Saturday, Winnebago County Deputy Coroner Chuck Hable said.

Mohl fell from Air Glory – a freefall swing ride – at the festival around 4:45 p.m. Saturday. She was transported to Aurora Medical Center by the Oshkosh Fire Department and shortly thereafter, flown by ThedaStar to Theda Clark, Hable said.

The ride closed Saturday after the incident and remained closed Sunday as investigators were on the scene.

The official cause of death is not yet known, Hable said. An autopsy will be conducted today.

2. "The official cause of death is not yet known, Hable said."
Deceleration trauma? Concrete poisoning?

From another link, my favorite part:

"A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. and the music festival resumed about 7:30 p.m."

No need to let a little death stop the ol' festivities.

4. But they were touched.
"It's much more somber," said Lori Hoag of Sun Prairie. "It's hard to try to have fun and be sad at the same time."

11. What does one do?
Should they be sad or should they have fun?

13. Good question...
For me, the fun would be over, and I'd probably leave. But then, I wouldn't be caught dead at one of those things (no pun intended!)...

10. "Air Glory"??
Looks like a bungee jump.

from the lifest website:
Want to hear grown men scream like little girls? Air Glory will take you and a friend or 2 to almost 100 feet above the ground. Then when you are overcome with total madness, you will pull your own rip-cord launching the 2 or 3 of you into a freefall glide to earth with the force of 3½ G’s (This is where the screaming comes in).
