Speaking of babies - one just plopped down in front of me at the coffee shop

We'll see how this goes...

it's with mother and, I assume, grandmother, though whether paternal or maternal I can't say with any sense of authority.

It's a very cute youngish baby (maybe 6 months?), and mother entertains it now with a rattle thingy.

Apart from the somewhat annoyingly cute baby sounds mother makes, and that she's chewing gum in front of the baby, all is quiet and good.

Nowhere near as loud as the little clutch of 3 middle-aged women with Evangelical Hair catting away for the last twenty minutes, who finally just left.

1. I don't know why I want to know - or even if I want to know - but what in the hell
is Evangelical Hair?

3. It's that homogenous, ugly fucking hairstyle that Evangelical Women
are required to wear.

I can spot it a mile away.

6. Yes, like that - it's usually short, bobbed in an ugly way, highlighted slightly
feathered perhaps.

15. Here are some examples:
They especially love platinum highlights. All part of the prosperity gospel bullshit they preach, I suppose.

19. Okay, so then this conglomeration of highlights and lowlights would not be considered
Evangelical Hair, right?

Because, really, my hair does like to mind its own business and does not proselytize. Much.

21. Nope, that's perfectly fine!
One can tell by the eyes.

Plus, the hairstyle is just a little too wild for the Evangelicals. You clearly think independently.

12. I tend to think of Michelle Duggar as having "high school hair."
You know, the woman who wears the same style she did way back when.

I am still oddly fascinated yet creeped out by her mullet-with-a-curling-iron look.

18. Well, high school is probably the last time she had time to style her hair, what with all
the sex and birthin' she's been having since then.

20. No kidding.
The other quintessential "high school hair" do is the topknot ponytail and the bangs done in one giant curl with the curling iron.

22. One giant curl that you DON'T brush out in any way after curling.
Now *that's* a nice look.

26. My across the street neighbors have six month old
twins, boy and a girl. They are beyond adorable.

Obviously, they are fraternal, but holy cow, they look exactly alike, right down to the big blue eyes.

I miss that age. I loved having babies.
